Catholic Churches
in rural Québec.
On the way home we stopped to admire a few.
Totally bonkers.
Every time I go into these massive, ornate structures I'm reminded of Catholicism's influence on my practice - in terms of ritual, decoration, symmetry, the use of linens and the need for external validation and absolution.
For this I can thank my fraternal Slavic lineage and my Scandanavian Mum for converting.
Fell immediately in love with the string of text across the altar.
