Agnus Dei

by Francisco de Zurbaran.
Dated 1639. The inscription at lower center reads TANQVAM AGNVS/ IN OCCISIONE

By the early 1630's Zurbaran established himself as the leading painter of religious, large scale works in Seville, having gained the patronage of the city's sacred and secular elite. While mainly focused on religious themes, his major compositions made use of still life, using incidental and humble objects as a means to bring sacred events into to the everyday.

MU

Mitsuko Uchida.
She's made my favorite recordings of Mozart's piano sonatas.
Here she talks about about Schumann's piano concerto, and his wife Clara being the better pianist.

wildfires

Hundreds of them, burning throughout the Russian countryside, many extremely close to Moscow. Officials have confirmed that some forests contaminated with radiation from the Chernobyl nuclear disaster have now burned, but it's unclear what danger the smoke from these fires could pose. Monitoring stations haven't yet registered any increase in radioactivity.

Keep these people and animals in your thoughts.

Dear Kev,
Next time you're home alone and upset about it, please choose something other to chew than knives you've knocked off the counter.
Love,

And if you're questioning what you will be dining on tonight, perhaps try this quick and clean beauty. God knows I can't resist another chilled soup, or anything with radishes in/on it.
